Recently, you may have received information from AQUA & East Whiteland Township regarding the installation of new public sewer mains on your street. The current project phase invites 130 residents to capitalize on newly available connections to public sewer.

Why Connect to A Public Sewer?

  • Wastewater system managed by a third party. Homeowners are now exempt from conducting proactive maintenance on tanks and other equipment.
  • No more pumping. Septic systems require periodic pumping and maintenance; abandon your septic system and you no longer have to worry about tank levels and pumping/ cleaning when full.
  • Reduce sewage backups. Partially due to AQUA’s maintenance program, public sewer mains tend to block up or become compromised much less frequently than private septic systems.
  • Increase your home’s resale value. A poorly maintained or failing septic system can significantly decrease a home’s value due to potential repairs or replacements. If public sewer is readily available to connect to, it is often preferred by buyers due to the avoidance of septic system maintenance and potential issues.
